Castor and Pollux represent the heads of the Twins and their feet are in the Milky Way.
Castor or Alpha Gem. Is a double star in scopes and is the 23rd brightest star in the sky. Castor has two partners and all three stars are spectroscopic binaries, so this is a complex system of six stars. Castor A and B revolve around each other every 400+ years.
Pollux or Beta Gem is actually brighter than the Alpha star Castor suggesting that one of these stars changed magnitude since these stars were first catalogued.
15 Geminorum a pleasing double in 4”-6” scopes at 75x. Good color contrast with yellowish and blue companion stars.
Zeta or 43 Geminorum is a rapid variable star changing from magnitude 3.6 to 4.1 in 10.15 days.
