M50
M50 is an open cluster located in Monoceros. It is 3 thousand light years from earth. At 07 03.2 right ascension and 7.0 declination, this Open Cluster has an apparent angular size of 16.0 and a visual brightness of -08 20.
M50 is unnamed and has an NGC catalog number of NGC 2323 and has estimated its population as about 200 stars in the main body. The visual appearance is described as a "heart-shaped figure". South of the center is a red M giant, contrasting prominently against its blue-white neighbor stars. The cluster also contains some yellow giants.
